Kress Family Branch of the Brown County LibraryOur Opportunity

We have an opportunity to harness solar power to not only generate thousands of hours of clean energy for our community, but even more importantly, to create a high-tech learning center for sustainability.

SEEDs for De Pere is raising funds to create a high-profile renewable energy project at the Kress Family Library featuring:

Right Place. Right Time.

More than 209,000 visits are made to the Kress Family Library each year, and thousands more pass by on Route 32/North Broadway and the adjacent Fox River Trail. Based on a survey of all Brown County Library branches, the Kress Family Library building provides an optimal location for sun exposure, roof size and building structure for a solar-electric array.

The library is already taking steps toward energy efficiency by changing lighting and updating mechanical systems. Those facts, combined with the natural educational nature of a library facility, make the Kress Family Library the ideal place for a solar energy awareness project
